Ankur Neon

If you head over to Shastri Nagar in Bandra West, you’ll find Ankur Neon at Plot No. 2. We take up Room No. 423 and 424. It’s quite near the Best Bus Depot, so there’s a constant sound of buses pulling in and out all day long. The rooms are a bit tucked away, and we have stuff piled up from floor to ceiling. It’s a working space, not a showroom. We spend a lot of time bent over workbenches with wires and lights. The air usually smells like solder or warm plastic. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know how to do. Being in Bandra, everything is fast, but inside our rooms, things take as long as they take. We don’t like to rush if it means making a mistake. Sometimes the neighbors from the other rooms come by to borrow a tool or just to complain about the weather. It’s a tight-knit little area. We’ve been here long enough that the local shopkeepers know us by name. We don't put on any acts for our customers. You see exactly what we are when you walk in. The walls could use a new coat of paint, and the floor is scratched up, but the work gets done. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily tasks. It’s just a regular business doing regular work for the people around here. We like the independence of having our own little corner.
