Our place, Klsm India, is situated over in the Dalia Industrial Estate. It is right off the New Link Road in Andheri West, so you can imagine the kind of traffic we deal with every morning and evening. The estate itself is full of different units and workshops, so there is always a sound of machines or trucks loading and unloading something nearby. We are just one of the many businesses trying to get things done in this concrete area. The building is an old industrial style, nothing like those glass towers you see further down the road. Inside, it is mostly about the work. We do not spend much time on decorations or making things look pretty for visitors. It is an honest working environment where the desks are a bit cluttered and the lighting is just whatever comes from the tubes on the ceiling. Being in Andheri West means everything is close by, but the Link Road is always a struggle. Sometimes we just stay late to avoid the worst of the rush. It is a busy life, and we are usually focused on the day-to-day tasks that keep the business running. We have our routines, like getting tea from the stall around the corner and talking to the other people who work in the estate. It is just a normal, everyday industrial setup where we put in the hours and then go home to our families.
