Bakes And More

Our little shop is tucked away in the New Link Palace Building, right across from Kamarth Club on that busy lane near Costa Coffee in Lokhandwala. If you walk by in the morning, you can usually smell whatever we’ve got in the oven. It’s not a massive operation, just a small kitchen and a counter where we put out the fresh stuff. We spend a lot of our time covered in flour or checking the timers on the ovens. Baking is a lot of waiting around and then moving very fast once the heat is right. We started this because we just liked making things that people enjoy eating. There’s no big corporate strategy here, just us trying to get the crust right on a loaf of bread or making sure the cakes aren't too dry. Lokhandwala is always moving, so we see a lot of the same faces coming in every day for their usual order. It gets a bit crowded in the shop during the afternoons, and sometimes we run out of things earlier than we planned. We don’t have a fancy website or anything, just our counter and the stuff we bake. The staff here are mostly local folks who have been with us since we opened. We just try to keep the place clean and the ovens hot. It's a simple life, but we like the routine of it all and seeing people enjoy their food. We try to keep prices fair and the ingredients fresh, which keeps us busy enough throughout the week.
