You can find us over on Orlem Tank Road in Mumbai, right in the middle of everything in the 400 064 area. If you know this part of the city, you know how busy the streets get. Our office for Ambuja Cements Ltd. is tucked away here, and it’s always a bit of a scramble with the traffic and people moving around. We don't have a big flashy storefront. It’s just a practical space where we manage the orders and talk to the contractors who are building all over Mumbai. The air is always a mix of salt from the coast and the general city smell. Inside, there are stacks of papers and some old desks that have seen better years. We aren't much for formalities here. Most of us just wear plain shirts and get on with the paperwork. We spend a lot of time on the phone, trying to coordinate trucks through the narrow roads. It can be a headache, but we’re used to it by now. Some of the guys have been working in this neighborhood for decades. We know where to get the best snacks nearby when we take a break. It's a real working office, not a showroom. We deal with the cement bags, the logistics, and the everyday problems that come up when you're trying to move materials in a city this big. It’s loud, it’s cramped, but it’s our daily routine and we just get it done.
