We at Ambuja Cements Ltd. are located right opposite the Advance Complex at Plot No C-7 63/64 in G.I.D.C. Vapi. Being near Deep Auto Service Centre means there are always vehicles around and plenty of noise from N.H. No 8. This is a real industrial area, so it’s not the place for anything fancy. Our office is functional, with heavy desks and a lot of dust from the highway and the cement bags. We handle a lot of volume here, and the trucks are constantly coming in from the main road. It’s a lot of shouting to be heard over the engines and the general hubbub of the industrial estate. We don't have a reception area with coffee; we just have a water cooler and some stools. Most of the people we deal with are drivers and site supervisors who are in a hurry. We try to get the paperwork done fast so they can get back on the road. It’s a gritty job, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. We’ve got a system for the loading that works well enough, even if it looks a bit messy to an outsider. It’s about keeping the flow going and making sure the numbers match up at the end of the day. We aren't here to give sales pitches. We just provide the materials people need to build. It’s loud, it’s busy, and it’s what we do every single day.
