We are over at Mithagar Road, specifically Off Aarey Piramal Cross Road 54. Amal Plastics has been operating out of this space for a good while. It's more of a warehouse feel than a shop. There are stacks of plastic items everywhere you look. Buckets, crates, and all sorts of household things piled up high. The air smells a bit like new plastic and cardboard boxes. It can get quite hot in here during the afternoons since the roof is mostly tin. I spend my time checking the inventory and making sure the orders are ready for the delivery trucks. The floor is concrete and has some cracks where we moved the heavy machinery around. Sometimes the neighbors pop in just to see what's new or to ask for a specific size of container we might have buried in the back. It takes me a minute to find things sometimes because the organization system is mostly in my head. I use an old wooden desk that has seen better days. The drawers stick a bit when it’s humid. We don't have a big sign outside, just the address and the name on the door. People who need us usually find us through word of mouth. It's a steady pace of work, nothing too flashy. We just make sure the plastic goods get to where they need to go, one load at a time. It keeps us quite busy throughout the week.
