All India Cottonseed Crushers Association

We are based on the 6th floor of Khetan Bhavan. It’s right on Jamshedji Tata Road in Churchgate, so it’s a busy part of town. The All India Cottonseed Crushers Association has been operating from this building for a long time. You take the lift up, and it’s a bit of an old-school office vibe. There are stacks of files and the sound of phones ringing quite often. We represent the cottonseed crushing industry, so there’s always a lot of correspondence coming in from different parts of the country. It’s a lot of coordination work. The view from the window is okay, but we’re mostly looking at our screens or talking to members. We don’t really do fancy events here. It’s more about the technicalities of the trade and making sure everyone is on the same page. The 198 address is well-known in the area, which makes it easy for visitors to find us, though parking is always a nightmare around Churchgate. Most of us take the train anyway. It’s a steady kind of place. We have our routines, our morning tea, and the work gets done one day at a time. It feels like a proper professional hub without the pretension you see in newer buildings. That’s just how we like it at the association. We have some old photos of industry meetings from the eighties on the walls. They look a bit faded now, but they give the place some character. Sometimes the ceiling leaks during the heavy monsoon, but we just put a bucket under it and keep going.
