Alko Telematics & Computics

Alko Telematics & Computics is based in the Fort area, specifically at number 288. Fort is a historic part of the city, and working here feels a bit different than being in the suburbs. The buildings are old and have a lot of character, though the stairs can be a bit of a climb. We focus on computers and telematics equipment. Our office is more like a workshop filled with various parts, wires, and computers being worked on. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find plush carpets or modern art. We have sturdy desks and plenty of power outlets for all the testing we do. Being in South Mumbai means we are surrounded by a lot of law firms and banks, so there is a lot of professional energy in the air. However, inside our space, it’s just us trying to figure out technical issues or assembling new systems. The humidity in Fort can be quite heavy because we are so close to the sea, so we keep the windows shut and the AC running most of the time. We get our tea from the guy downstairs who has been there for years. The days are usually long because technical work always takes more time than you think it will. We just take it one job at a time and try to stay organized despite all the components lying around.
