Alif Acrylic Industries

Our place, Alif Acrylic Industries, is located in Unit 11-F on Marol Maroshi Road in Andheri East. It’s an industrial area, so there’s always the sound of machines and trucks moving around. We work mostly with acrylic sheets, cutting them to size and making things that people order. The shop is usually covered in a bit of dust from the cutting, no matter how much we sweep. It’s just the nature of the work. We have a few machines that have been with us for a long time. They’re old but they still work fine if you know how to handle them. My brother and I run the daily stuff here. We get orders from all over the city, but we mostly deal with people who walk in with a specific drawing or an idea of what they want. It’s not a fancy office; it’s a workshop. There are stacks of acrylic everywhere, different colors and thicknesses. Sometimes it’s hard to find a place to sit down and have tea. The traffic on Maroshi Road can be a nightmare in the evenings, so we try to get our deliveries out early in the day. We’ve been in this unit for several years now. It’s a lot of manual work and standing on your feet, but it’s what we do. We don't have a marketing team or anything, just our hands and the machines. We keep working until the job is finished.
