Our shop is located in Gandhi Nagar 1, over in Andheri East. It’s a pretty cramped space because we have a lot of old fridge units and cooling parts stacked up against the walls. We spend most of our time out on calls, fixing air conditioners or commercial refrigerators that have stopped working. When we are at the shop, we’re usually cleaning tools or trying to organize the spare parts bin. It smells a bit like oil and old dust in here. Andheri East is always crowded, so getting our van out of the alley can be a real pain some mornings. We started this small company because there’s always a need for cooling in this heat. It’s hard work and your hands get dirty almost immediately. We have a small desk near the front where we keep the ledger and the phone. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook during the summer months. We don't have a website or anything like that, mostly people just know us from the neighborhood or find our number on a sticker. We try to be fair with how we charge, especially for the folks who live nearby. The floor is stained from years of working on compressors. It’s not a place for a suit and tie. We just wear our work shirts and get on with the repairs that need doing.
