A-12 in the Shilpa building is where you’ll find us most days. It’s located on 90 Feet Road, which is a busy part of Sane Guruji Nagar over in Mulund East. This road stays pretty crowded with people heading toward the station, so there is always something to see out the window. Agadh Power Transmission Pvt. Ltd. is a small operation, and the office reflects that. We don’t have fancy carpets or modern art on the walls. Instead, there are stacks of technical drawings and various metal components scattered on the desks. Our work involves a lot of looking at specs and making sure everything for power transmission is handled correctly. It’s a quiet place for the most part, except for the hum of the old computers and the water cooler that makes a clunking sound every few minutes. Getting here from the station takes about fifteen minutes on foot, but most of us just grab a rickshaw if the weather is bad. A few big trees stand outside the building, which helps keep the rooms from getting too hot in the Mumbai sun. Our team is small and we’ve worked together for quite a few years now. Lunch usually involves everyone sitting around the main table with their home-cooked tiffins. It’s a decent place to work, tucked away in a steady neighborhood where everyone just goes about their daily business without much trouble.
