Active Engineers

We are out at Plot No. 507, on Road No. 13 in Phase-2 of the Kuthwada GIDC area. It’s right off Odhav Road. Being in an industrial estate means there’s always a lot of activity and noise around us. Active Engineers has been in this shed for a long time. It’s an engineering shop, so it’s full of tools, metal scraps, and the smell of grease and cutting oil. We don't have a clean office with air conditioning. It’s mostly just the workshop floor and a small corner where we keep the blueprints and the computer. We do a lot of repair work and custom fabrication. It’s hard on the hands and we’re usually covered in grime by the end of the shift. We don’t use any fancy marketing. Most of our work comes from other businesses in the GIDC who know we can fix things. Sometimes we’re working late into the night to get a machine back up and running for a client. The roof leaks a little bit when it rains really hard, but we just move the machines out of the way. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We don’t wear uniforms, just old clothes that we don’t mind getting dirty. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and precision work mixed together. We like being in Odhav because all the suppliers we need are just a few roads away.
