Acme Bearing

Our office is over at 35 A, on the 3rd floor of the building at 38 B in Masjid Bunder West. We are really close to the railway station, just a short walk away. We deal in bearings, which sounds like a small thing but they are in everything. The office is usually filled with catalogs and samples. It’s a lot of metal and grease sometimes, though we keep the main office part clean for visitors. We’ve been working out of this South End Road area for a long time. It’s a noisy part of town with all the trucks and the station nearby, but it’s the best place for a business like ours. Most of our day is spent looking up part numbers and checking if we have specific sizes in the warehouse. We don't have a flashy showroom because bearings aren't really for looking at; they’re for working. We get calls from all over asking for specific types that are hard to find. We aren't a big corporate supplier with a call center. When you call, you just talk to one of us here in the office. We know our stock pretty well. If we don't have it, we usually know where to find it. It’s a straightforward business and we’ve been at it long enough to know the ins and outs. The lift in the building can be moody, so sometimes we just take the stairs.
