Acc Cement

Our place is at Plot No 121, known as Cement House, on Maharshi Karve Road. It’s an old building, and you can feel the age in the walls. The location is right in the middle of a lot of traffic, so there is a constant hum of cars and buses outside. We handle the distribution side of things here. It involves a lot of checking lists and making sure the numbers on the bags match the numbers on the paper. The rooms are high-ceilinged but they get very warm in the afternoons. We have a few old fans that creak while they spin. Working with cement means everything has a bit of a gritty feel to it. Even the chairs seem to have a bit of dust. We aren't trying to be anything other than a supply point. The guys in the yard are busy moving pallets, and the office staff is busy with the ledgers. Maharshi Karve Road is a landmark area, so people find us easily enough. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, but the work we do stays pretty much the same. It’s about getting the product moved from the trucks to the customers without making too many mistakes. We close up when the work is done, usually after a long day of dealing with logistics and the heat. There’s always another truck arriving just as we want to go home, but that’s the business.
