Abbas Plastic & Co

Abbas Plastic & Co has been operating out of the Sanaullah Compound on Dharavi Road for many years. This is a very active area, always full of people working and making things. Our space is in the middle of it all. We work with recycled plastics and various raw materials. It’s a gritty job, not at all like an office job. There’s a lot of heat and the smell of processing, but that’s just part of the life here. We don’t have fancy furniture or a reception desk. It’s a factory floor where things get moved around constantly. We know the other business owners in the compound well; we all look out for each other. Dharavi Road is always crowded, and getting trucks in and out can be a real headache, but we manage. We aren't looking to become some huge corporation. We just want to keep the machines running and the orders moving. It’s a family-run operation mostly. We just try to get the work done without much fuss. We don't use big marketing words. We just show the products we make. If you come down to Sanaullah Compound, you’ll hear our machines long before you see the sign. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. We’ve been here through the rains and the heat, just doing our bit in the neighborhood. The local tea seller stops by twice a day, which is the highlight for most of us.
