About A S Electromech Industries – Plastic in Mumbai
Our workshop is in Gala No 6 inside the Anaclet D Sauza Compound in Andheri East. It’s a proper industrial area, so there’s always the sound of welding or machines running nearby. Our space isn't very large, and it’s usually covered in a bit of oil and metal shavings. We do a lot of mechanical and electrical work, so the benches are covered in tools, wires, and half-finished motors. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear a nice shirt. We’ve got a small mezzanine for the paperwork, but most of the action happens on the floor. The compound itself is quite old, and the road inside is a bit bumpy with potholes. When the monsoon hits, we have to be careful about the leaks in the roof. We just patch them up and keep working. It’s a small crew here, mostly guys who have been doing this kind of work for decades. We don't have a fancy sign outside, just the number on the door. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for years. We spend a lot of time fixing things that other people said were too old to bother with. It’s dirty, noisy work, but there’s a certain rhythm to it that we like. We just keep the machines running and the orders going out the door every single day, regardless of the heat.
