A B Plast

The industrial area in Andheri East 1 is a hectic place to work. At A B Plast, we deal with plastic molding and it gets quite hot near the machines. You can usually smell the melting plastic as soon as you step off the street. We have a few injection machines that run pretty much all day. The floor is covered in small plastic pellets that always seem to escape the bags no matter how careful we are. I spend a lot of my time checking the cooling cycles and making sure the molds are sitting right. It is not the kind of job where you stay clean. By the end of the shift, your clothes usually have a bit of oil or dust on them. We get a lot of local orders for small components. Some days are slow and we spend them cleaning the equipment, but other days everyone is rushing to pack boxes before the transport truck arrives. The traffic around here makes deliveries a bit of a gamble. Sometimes the truck gets stuck for two hours just a few blocks away. We don't have a big office, just a small cabin with a computer that’s usually covered in paperwork. We drink a lot of tea to stay focused. It’s a simple operation, really. We just focus on making sure the parts come out the right shape and that the machines don't break down mid-way.
