A 1 Acrylic Fabricators is over in Goregaon West. If you walk down the lane, you’ll probably hear the sound of the saws before you see the sign. We do a lot of cutting and shaping here. Acrylic is a messy material to work with because it leaves little bits of plastic everywhere, no matter how much you sweep. The workshop is always covered in a thin layer of dust. We don’t have a big storefront or anything fancy like that. It’s just a workspace where we get things done. I have two guys working with me, and we’ve been at it for years. Most of our work comes from people nearby who need something specific made. We don't really do much advertising; people just find us or hear about us from someone else. The heat in Goregaon can be tough, especially when we are working with the heat guns to bend the sheets. We take a lot of breaks for water. It’s hard work on the hands and the eyes, but it’s what we know. The space is a bit tight, so we have to be careful where we move the larger sheets so they don’t get scratched. Every day is pretty much the same—measuring, cutting, and glueing. We close up around seven and head home. It’s just a regular fabrication shop, nothing more, nothing less. We just focus on the job at hand and try to keep the machines running for the next project.
