You wouldn't really expect to find a farm products business tucked away in Sewri East, but that’s where we are. We operate out of a ground floor room in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, near the Sewri Fort Road. It’s a busy part of Mumbai, very industrial and crowded, which is different from where the actual food grows. We handle the side of the business that brings farm goods into the city. Our space is Room No. 40, and it’s usually packed with crates or paperwork depending on what day it is. Being near the fort road means we have a lot of trucks and noise around us all the time. It’s not a fancy showroom. It’s just a practical spot where we manage the logistics of getting products from the countryside to the city markets. We started 18Thcentury Farm Products because we wanted to bridge that gap. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the Mumbai traffic, which everyone knows is a nightmare around Sewri. We just do our best to keep things moving. It’s a small operation with just a few of us making sure everything gets where it needs to go. We’ve been in this 400015 area for a bit and we’ve gotten used to the fast pace. It’s a lot of phone calls and keeping track of inventory in a small space. We aren't some big corporation, just local guys working in the middle of Mumbai’s hustle.
