Mrinalpaul

I am Mrinal Paul and I live and work in Antala village. My father is Manas Narayan Paul and everyone in the village knows our house. This is in the West Medinipore district. It’s a rural area, so things move a lot slower here than they do in the big cities. We don't have a proper street address with house numbers like they do in Kolkata. You just ask for the Paul house near the post office. I do my work from a small room at the back of the house that looks out over the fields. Depending on the time of year, I can see the rice being planted or harvested. It’s very quiet here, which is good for concentrating. Sometimes the power goes out for hours, so I have to make sure my phone is charged up. I don't have any fancy equipment or an office chair. I mostly sit on a wooden stool at a tall desk. My mother brings me lunch while I’m working. It’s a very family-oriented environment. I handle everything myself, from answering messages to doing the actual tasks. People around here don't really understand what I do on the computer, but they see me working hard every day. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s honest work. I like being close to my roots while I earn my living. The air is fresh and there is plenty of space to breathe. It’s quiet and good for focus.
