L.I.C.I.

We are located in a small village called Anandapur, in the Paschim Medinipur district. The office is right there near the local post office and police station, which are the main landmarks around here. Working for L.I.C.I. in a rural area like this is quite different from being in a big city. Most of our day is spent traveling out to meet people in their homes or at their small shops. We talk about life insurance and savings while sitting on someone's porch or under a tree. Then we come back to the office to fill out the forms and keep the records straight. It is a simple place with a few desks and some old filing cabinets that have seen better days. The power goes out sometimes, so we just wait it out or work by the window light. We know almost everyone in the village and the surrounding areas. People drop by not just for insurance but sometimes just to say hello or ask for help with some other paperwork. We don't have any fancy signs or a big marketing budget. Our work comes from being a part of the community for a long time. It’s a slow pace of life here in West Bengal, and we don't try to rush things. We just make sure the policies are handled correctly and that people understand what they are signing. It’s a steady job that keeps us connected to our neighbors every day.
