V Kumar Deyings & Printing Pvt.Ltd. is located at 12/6 in Nai Sadark, over in Shastri Nagar. It’s an older part of the area, and it can get pretty loud outside with all the traffic and people. Our space is mostly taken up by the machines and the fabrics we work with. There is always the smell of ink and steam in the air. It’s a hands-on kind of job. We spend most of the day on our feet. The floors are rarely clean because there is always something being moved or printed. We’ve been in Shastri Nagar for a long time. Most of the people around here know what we do. We aren't a big corporation with fancy suits. We wear clothes that we don't mind getting a bit of dye on. Sometimes the orders pile up and we have to stay late to finish the printing. The light in the shop isn't the best, but we know where everything is. We have a few old fans that keep the air moving. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. We talk to the delivery drivers every day. They know exactly where 12/6 is. We don't have a website that we use much. Most people just call us or stop by. It’s a local business through and through. We just keep the machines running and the prints coming out. The neighborhood is crowded, but it feels like home to us. We just focus on the fabric and the colors every day. It is what it is.
