Khadi Gramodyog Samiti

You can find the Khadi Gramodyog Samiti over at No. 175 Dharam Puri in Sadar. We are right near the Sadar Police Station in the Begambagh area. It’s an old part of the city and we’ve been here for a long time. We work with khadi and other village industry products, trying to keep those traditional ways of making things alive. Our office and shop aren't fancy at all. We have wooden shelves and the smell of fabric and handmade goods everywhere. It’s a quiet place compared to the main roads, but we stay busy with the local community. People come to us for stuff they can't find in the big modern malls. We don't have a big advertising budget or a team of experts. It’s just a group of us who think there is real value in things made by hand. Sometimes it’s hard to compete with the cheap factory goods, but we have our regulars who appreciate the quality of what we offer. We spend our days sorting through stock and talking to the people who come in. It’s a very human way to do business. We’ve seen many shops come and go in Sadar, but we’re still here at the same spot near the police station. We just keep doing what we do, one day at a time, without making much noise about it. That is how we have always operated.
