India Steels

India Steels is located on the Shamli By Pass at Rana Chowk on Meerut Road. It is a busy junction, so we get a lot of people passing by who see our sign and pull over. Being on the bypass means we get the long-distance trucks stopping by, and the noise of the traffic is just something we live with. The yard is quite large, which is good because we keep a lot of variety in our steel stock. Rana Chowk is a well-known landmark, so people never have a hard time finding where we are. We have a small crew of workers who handle the cutting and the loading. The office is just a small brick building at the front where we keep the accounts. It is often quite hot inside, so we spend most of our time out in the yard under the shade of the overhang. We do not do anything fancy here. We just buy steel, stack it, and sell it to anyone who needs it for their project. The ground is a bit uneven, and it gets muddy when it rains, but we just throw some gravel down and keep going. We are just local people making a living by moving metal. It is not a glamorous job, but it is steady. We like being at the chowk because we get to see everything that is happening in the area.
