N K Fabricators

If you look across from the tempo stand in Partapur, you’ll see Building No-12 on Gangol Road. That’s where we do all our fabrication work at N K Fabricators. It’s a rough and tumble kind of place, especially being so close to the industrial area noise. We have welding torches going all day, and the blue light from the arcs is something you get used to after a while. Being near the ICICI bank is handy, but mostly we just focus on the steel and iron we have in the shop. The floor is concrete and usually covered in bits of scrap metal and heavy tools. It’s a big open space so we can fit the larger projects inside without hitting the ceiling. We don’t have a fancy showroom or a salesman in a suit. Usually, you’ll find the owner with grease on his shirt just like everyone else. The tempo drivers outside are always shouting and moving things, so there’s a lot of energy around the gate. We work through the heat and the rain, making sure the structures we build are solid. It’s a gritty job, and your hands stay dirty no matter how much you wash them, but that’s fabrication for you. We just keep our heads down and get the welding done, making sure everything is lined up right before it leaves the yard.
