You can find us at Dewan Public School on 220 West End Road. It’s a solid building that’s been standing for a while. We have a lot of history in these walls, though we don’t talk about it much. We’re more focused on what’s happening today. The morning commute on West End Road can be a bit of a headache, so we’re used to the sound of cars outside. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of teachers talking and chairs scraping on the floor. We have a small yard where the kids spend their breaks. It isn't huge, but it's enough for them to run around a bit. We try to keep the place looking tidy, but with so many people coming and going, there’s always a bit of dust. The staff room is usually full of half-finished cups of tea and stacks of papers that need marking. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment. We rely on what we have and make it work. Some of the windows stick in the winter, and the sun hits the front of the building hard in the afternoons. It’s just a normal place where work gets done. We aren’t trying to be anything other than a local school. People bring their kids here, and we do our best to get them through their lessons. It's a job we've been doing for years and we'll probably keep doing it the same way.
