All Saints School sits right by Bacha Park in the Thapar Nagar area of Meerut. It’s a very central spot, so there is always a lot of noise from the street, but once you get inside the gates, it feels a bit more contained. The building has been here for years, and you can tell by the way the stone steps have worn down in the middle from so many feet walking over them. We don't have any of those modern glass partitions or expensive carpets; it’s just plain walls and sturdy furniture that can handle the daily wear and tear. The teachers are a hardworking bunch who spend their days trying to keep the students focused while the city hums outside the windows. We often have to deal with the typical problems of an old building, like a fan that squeaks or a door that won't shut quite right. The office is usually a bit chaotic with parents coming in to ask about holidays or exam schedules. We keep things simple and don't try to act like a big corporate entity. It’s just a local school where we know most of the families by their first names. During the lunch break, the courtyard is full of kids eating out of their tiffin boxes and playing games. It’s a lively place, and even though it gets exhausting sometimes, it’s just the way life is here in Meerut.
