This branch of Ramsarup Lohh Udyog Limited is located over at Sahachawk on TML Road in Kharagpur. Vinod Sharma is the assistant manager for materials here, so he’s usually the one overseeing the day-to-day stuff. It’s a very practical environment. We are right in the middle of a busy industrial and transport corridor. The road outside is always full of heavy vehicles, which makes sense given what we do. We handle iron and various raw materials that go into construction and manufacturing. The office itself is tucked away, a bit of a quiet spot compared to the yard where all the loading happens. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of what comes in and making sure the counts are right. Mistakes are a pain to fix, so we try to be careful. The weather in Kharagpur can be pretty harsh, so we have a routine for when it rains or gets too hot. We don't really have a fancy philosophy about what we do. We just get the materials where they need to go. Vinod keeps things organized, but it’s still a very hands-on job for everyone involved. There’s always dirt on our shoes and grease on the paperwork. It’s just the nature of the industry. We like the local vibe of Sahachawk and the people we deal with every day are mostly regulars we’ve known for years. We just keep the wheels turning.
