We are right in the thick of things at 56 Silver Jubilee Park Road. If you know Bangalore, you know that SP Road is the place for anything mechanical or electrical. It is incredibly crowded and noisy from morning until night. At Bangalore Electrical & Machinary Co., we spend our days surrounded by motors, pumps, and all sorts of heavy equipment. The shop is narrow and packed from floor to ceiling with spare parts and machinery. You have to watch your step so you don’t trip over a piece of iron. It’s a bit dark inside because of all the shelves, but we know exactly where everything is located. We deal with a lot of walk-in customers who are looking for a specific part or need something fixed. There’s always the smell of grease and metal in the air. We don’t have any fancy displays or a quiet area to sit. Most of the time, we’re standing at the counter or helping someone load a heavy motor onto a trolley. The traffic outside is constant, with bikes and carts squeezed into every inch of the road. We’ve been here for a long time, and we know most of the other shop owners on the street. It’s a lot of hard work, lifting heavy things and dealing with the heat, but we just focus on getting the right machinery to the people who need it. It's a noisy neighborhood, but it feels like home.
