Down in Ladhauna, specifically in the Tola area, that’s where you’ll find Shamho Akha Kurha Farmers Producer Company Limited. We are part of the Shamho Akha Kurha block, which is a pretty rural spot. Being a farmers producer company means we are all about the guys working the soil here in the village. We didn’t start this to be some big shot business. It was more about surviving and getting a better deal for our crops. Everyone in the village knows who we are. We meet up in the Tola to discuss things like seed quality or how the rain is looking for the month. It’s a very local thing. No one wears a suit here. We are usually in our work clothes, coming in from the fields. The company is just a way for us to be more organized. We have a lot of meetings under the shade or in a small room when it’s raining. We deal with all the headaches that come with farming in this part of the country. Sometimes things go well, sometimes they don't. We just try to help each other out with the harvest and selling. It’s a lot of manual labor and paperwork that we aren't always fond of. But we keep at it because it’s our life. We’re just Ladhauna people trying to make a go of it and survive.
