Mau Nathbhanjan is a busy place, and there is always something going on in the streets outside. We chose this location because it is central for a lot of the people we work with. Even though the name says research, we are very much involved in the daily grind of farming. We spend our time looking at different ways to help the soil and improve the crops that everyone around here depends on. The office in the residency is usually filled with people coming in to ask questions or drop off paperwork. It gets pretty hectic when the season is changing and everyone is rushing to get their seeds sorted. We have a couple of desks and a lot of folders piled up. The fans are always running to keep the heat away, but it still gets warm when the room is full. We are not some big corporate entity; we are just people from Mau who want to see the local agriculture do better. We don’t have all the answers, but we spend our days trying to find them by talking to the farmers and testing things out on the ground.
