R.R. Stonex

R.R. Stonex is situated on the Mai Road in Vemavaram, Prakasam district. We are on Survey No-40-3 and 40-4. It’s a big plot of land right by the road, which makes it easy for the heavy trucks to turn in and out. Being in Prakasam, we are right in the heart of some good stone country. The yard is usually quite busy with activity. We have stacks of stone everywhere you look. It’s not a polished showroom. It’s a working yard where things get dirty and the sun beats down on you all day. We spend most of our time grading the stones and making sure everything is counted correctly. My partners and I have been working in this field for a long time. We don't bother with expensive advertising because the stones speak for themselves when people see them. You have to be tough to work here because the slabs are heavy and the days are long. We have a small cabin for the accounts and to keep out of the rain. Sometimes the road gets really busy and the noise of the traffic mixes with our machines. It’s just the way it is. We keep our heads down and focus on the stock we have. It’s a basic, functional business for people who need solid stone for their buildings. We just get on with it and try to stay organized among the piles of rock.
