Packaged Drinking Water

Working out of the Mangalore Industrial Area is a bit different than being in the city. It’s grittier here, especially being so close to the Sugar Mills. You can often smell the processing from the mills when the wind blows the right way toward our place. Our business is simple, focused entirely on packaged drinking water. We don’t even have a fancy name on the building, just the sign that says what we do. The industrial area is always loud with trucks and machinery, so we fit right in. Our routine is pretty set. We get in, check the water lines, and start the packaging process. It’s a lot of plastic and crates and water everywhere. We try to keep it dry, but that’s nearly impossible when you’re dealing with this much liquid all day. The workers here are mostly local guys who live nearby. We don’t have a marketing department or a sales team. We just fill the orders that come in. It’s a tough environment sometimes, especially when it rains and the roads get muddy. But the water stays clean inside the bottles, and that’s the main thing. We’ve seen other businesses come and go in this part of Mangalore, but we’ve managed to stay put near the mills. It’s just how we make a living. There’s nothing glamorous about it, but it’s what we know how to do. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
