Diesel Cafe

We've been here on Balmatta Road for a while now. Most people in Kankanady know the spot since it’s right on the main stretch near the hospital. It gets pretty busy around here especially in the evenings when everyone is out and about. We started this place because we wanted a spot where you could just sit down and get a decent cup of coffee or a quick bite without it being a whole thing. The decor is simple and we try to keep things moving. Mangalore can get quite hot so we make sure it’s a comfortable place to escape the sun for a bit. Sometimes the music is a bit loud but that’s just how it is. We have a lot of regulars who come in from the nearby offices or students who just need a break from their books. It isn't a fancy five-star setup or anything like that. Just a regular cafe where the staff knows your name if you come by often enough. We keep the kitchen running all day and try to make sure the food tastes the same every time you order it. If you are walking down Kankanady area you will probably see our sign. It's nothing too flashy. We just do our work and hope people enjoy the space. It’s been a good journey so far seeing the neighborhood change around us while we stay right here on the corner. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who like making coffee and talking to people.
