Holly Angel Senior Secondary School

Holly Angel Senior Secondary School sits right along NH 17 in Cholthra. Being on the highway makes it easy for the buses to get in and out, though it does get a bit dusty sometimes with the traffic passing by towards Mandi. We’ve got the senior secondary classes here, so the kids are a bit older and sometimes louder. The building has been here for years, and you can see the wear on the steps where thousands of feet have walked up and down. We don't go for anything too flashy. The walls are painted a simple color and we try to keep the desks in good shape. It’s a lot of work managing everything from the primary kids up to the older ones. In the mornings, the staff meets up for a quick tea before the first bell. We usually talk about which light bulbs need replacing or if the gate needs oiling. The mountains around Mandi are always there in the background, which is a view we probably take for granted. Some days are busier than others, especially when there’s a local function or exams are coming up. We have a small staff room where we keep all the registers and old files. It’s not a corporate office, just a school where people from around Cholthra send their children to get through their studies. We just try to keep things orderly and make sure the kids stay focused on their books.
