Gazole Mango & Vegetable Producer Company Limited

If you go to Mudapur, specifically to the place owned by Jarip Ch Sarkar in Barokona, that’s where we run the Gazole Mango & Vegetable Producer Company. Being in the Gazole area, mangoes are obviously the big thing for us during the summer months. The smell of the orchards is everywhere when the fruit starts to ripen. Jarip’s place serves as the hub where we organize the vegetable pickups and the mango sorting. It’s a practical setup, nothing more than a desk, some chairs, and a lot of floor space for crates. We spend our mornings checking the quality of the gourds and greens that come in from the nearby fields. Mudapur is a quiet spot, but it gets lively when the trucks arrive to take the produce to the bigger markets. We don't spend money on fancy signs or advertising. Most people know to come to house number 02 if they need to talk about their vegetable yields. The work is dusty and often goes on late into the evening during the peak mango season. We have to deal with the heat and the insects, just like every other farmer in this part of the state. It’s just about getting the produce out of the ground and into the hands of people who need it. We’ve got a small group helping out, mostly neighbors and relatives who understand how the seasons work here. We just try to make sure nothing goes to waste in the heat.
