Chelembra Farmers Producer Company

We’re located in the Kottukapally Buildings at Paingottoormad. It’s 9/544D, not too far from the Calicut University P.O. Chelembra Farmers Producer Company is basically a group of us coming together to manage our produce. We aren't some big city corporation with a glass building and fancy elevators. We work out of this space because it's close to where the actual farming happens in the community. Most of us have been in the fields ourselves, so we know how tough it can be to get things done. This company was set up to help get our products out there without too much trouble from middle men. It’s a lot of talking to different farmers and figuring out the best way to move things along. The office can get a bit cluttered with samples and bags of grain, but that’s just a sign that we’re working. We don't have a receptionist in a suit; you’re more likely to find one of us with dirt on our boots and a hat on. It’s a practical setup for real people. We handle whatever comes our way, from seeds to the final produce that goes to market. Some days are long, especially when the season is changing and everyone is in a hurry. We don't have a fancy mission statement or anything like that written on the wall. We just want to make sure the farmers around Chelembra get a fair shake. It’s about the community here. We’ve been at this spot for a bit and plan to stay as long as needed.
