Vel Tuition Centre

Our tuition centre is located at 14 Abdul Gaffar Khan Street in Chinna Chokkikulam, Madurai. We are lucky to be near the Eco Park, which is a nice landmark for anyone trying to find us. The street itself is a typical Madurai residential street, sometimes quiet and sometimes full of people. We have been here for a good while. The building is just a house that we’ve converted into a place for classes. It still feels like a home in many ways. We have benches crammed into the front rooms and a small desk where we keep the registers. There is a small gate that squeaks every time someone comes in. We’ve been meaning to oil it, but we always forget. The walls are covered with old charts and some student drawings. It is a very lived-in space. We don't have air conditioning, just ceiling fans that hum all day. When the power goes out, which it does, we just open the windows and keep going. It’s a small operation. We know the parents and the kids by name. We aren't part of some big company. It’s just a local tuition centre. We spend our evenings here, mostly, because that’s when everyone finishes school. It’s a simple life. We like the neighborhood and the people in it. We just keep our heads down and do the work day after day.
