Our place, Pandian Foods, is situated at 3/346-D on the Alanganallur Main Road. This area of Sikkandar Chavadi is always moving, with buses and bikes zooming past all day long. We have a decent-sized space where we prepare all our food products. It’s a busy environment where someone is always doing something, whether it’s cleaning the grain or sealing up the bags. It can get quite hot in the back when the machinery has been running for a few hours. We started out as a small family operation and we still feel that way even though we have more people helping us now. There is no polished corporate vibe here. You’ll see sacks of raw ingredients leaning against the walls and crates waiting to be loaded onto the tempo. Our floors are concrete and our desks are covered in order slips. We don't have time for fancy decorations. We just focus on the task at hand. Sometimes a batch doesn't turn out quite right and we have to start over. That’s just the reality of working with food. We have a lot of regulars who come by the gate to ask what’s fresh today. It’s a good feeling to be part of the local daily life here. We just do our best to keep the quality where it needs to be and keep our customers happy.
