If you’re driving down the Kochi - Madurai - Dhanushkodi Road, you’ll see us at Plot No. 1 in Iravathanallur. We deal with concrete, so things are usually a bit dusty around the yard. It’s hard work, especially with the sun beating down on the road all day, but we’ve got a good rhythm going. The trucks are constantly coming and going, carrying loads to different building sites nearby. We don't spend much time sitting around. Most of the guys here have been working with cement and mixers for years, so they know exactly how the mix should look before it leaves. It’s a practical business. We set up here because the location makes it easy to get to different parts of the district. Sometimes the traffic on the main road makes things a bit slow, but we manage. We aren't trying to be anything fancy. We just provide concrete for whoever needs it, whether it’s a small house repair or something bigger. The office is just a small room where we keep the logs and take calls. People usually just stop by the gate and ask for what they need. We’ve seen the area change a lot over the years, but the demand for solid building materials stays the same. We just keep the mixers turning and the orders moving. It's what we do. It isn't a glamorous life, but it's steady.
