Vel Plastics

Vel Plastics is basically just a few of us working out of Sidco Industrial Estate in Kappalur. It’s a big area with lots of sheds and we’ve been in ours for a good long time. It’s mostly just us and the machines running all day in the heat, which can get pretty bad in the afternoons. Sometimes the power goes out, but we just wait it out or fix whatever needs fixing at the time. It’s a dusty part of town, let’s be honest. Most people know we are here by the big blue gate and the stacks of materials outside. We handle a lot of plastic stuff, moving crates and heavy bags around the floor. My brother helps me out with the books, and we’ve got a couple of guys who have been with us since the very first day. Kappalur gets really busy in the mornings when all the trucks roll in for deliveries. We usually grab some tea from the small stall down the road around eleven to take a break. It's nothing fancy inside our building. Just a concrete warehouse floor and some old office chairs that have definitely seen better days. We don't really do much in the way of advertising because folks around the estate just stop by when they need something specific. The roof leaks a bit when it rains hard, so we have to move the stock away from that one corner. It’s hard work, but it keeps us busy.
