Grt Regency

The Grt Regency is over at 38, Madakulam Main Road in the Palanganatham area. It’s not right in the center of the main city chaos, but it gets busy enough. We get quite a few people who are just passing through Madurai or staying for a night on their way to somewhere else. The building stands out a bit on this road. We have a crew that’s been here for a bit, and they know the regulars by name now. The parking area gets tight if there is a function going on in the hall. Sometimes the lobby gets a bit loud when a big group arrives all at once. We don't do anything too complicated here. The rooms are what you’d expect for a place like this. We spend a lot of time checking the air conditioning units because it gets really hot in this part of town. The kitchen starts early because folks want their coffee and idli before they head out. It’s a straightforward spot. We aren't trying to be a five-star palace or anything like that. We just provide a place to sleep and eat that’s clean. Most of the people working here live nearby in the neighborhood. You might see us chatting near the entrance during the quiet hours. It’s just how things are at this hotel. We keep the lights on and the rooms ready for whoever shows up.
