Our office is located at number 53 on the road that goes from Ramanathapuram to Sivagangai and then on to Melur, right in the Poovali area. It’s a long stretch of road, and we’ve been a part of this landscape for quite some time. The work here is pretty tied to the land and the seasons. We aren't into making big promises or using polished language to describe our daily routine. Mostly, we are looking at logs, talking to drivers, and making sure the facility is running like it should. Being out here in Poovali means we are a bit away from the city noise, which is nice, but it also means we have to be more self-reliant. Sometimes the power goes out or the road gets blocked, and we just have to figure it out as we go. We’ve got a mix of older workers who have been here forever and some younger ones learning the ropes. We don’t have a fancy lunchroom, just a spot where we sit and eat what we brought from home. It’s the kind of place where your boots get muddy and you stay until the job is done. We just keep our operations going steadily, year after year, without needing to make much noise about it.
