You can find us over on Santhai Road, right in the Nagal Nagar area. We've been at number 14 for a good number of years now. This street is always moving, especially on market days when everyone comes in from the surrounding villages. We deal mostly with things related to the land. It’s hard work and the office often smells like the earth or whatever supplies we’ve got stacked in the back. My brother and I took over the space from our uncle. He used to say that if you take care of the ground, it takes care of you. We aren't doing anything flashy here. It’s mostly just sitting with farmers, talking about the rain or why the crops aren't growing like they used to. The chairs in our waiting area are a bit worn out, but they are comfortable enough for a long chat. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit outside on the steps and wait for it to come back. We know most of the people who walk past our door by their first names. Nagal Nagar has changed a lot since we were kids, but Santhai Road still feels like the heart of it all. We just keep the doors open and see who comes in. It’s a quiet kind of business, mostly based on trust and showing up every morning. We don't need much more than that to keep going.
