Alphonsa Flour Mill

The sound of the grinders is something we hear every day here at Alphonsa Flour Mill. We are located on Madurai Main Road, specifically in Sisthu Nagar near the Peettorni Post. It is a busy road, and we are situated right near the main path where people travel back and forth. The air in our mill is usually a bit white from all the flour dust, which is something you just get used to after a week of working here. We spend our time pouring grain into the machines and watching it turn into fine flour. It is a loud process, but it is steady. We have a simple setup where people can bring their bags and wait for their turn. There are no big signs or fancy advertisements for us. Most of the people in Sisthu Nagar just know us as the mill near the post office. We open up early to beat the heat, as the machines can make the room quite warm by midday. It is a traditional kind of job, and we take it one bag at a time. Sometimes the equipment needs a bit of grease or a belt needs tightening, and we handle that ourselves. We focus on the grain and the milling, making sure the machines are running right. It is honest work on the Madurai Main Road, and we are happy to keep the mill going for the local neighborhood.
