Our factory is out in Dhandari Khurd, right near the Raja Vanaspati plant on the G.T. Road. Since we’re so close to the main highway, we get a lot of noise from the big trucks passing by all day and night. It’s a very industrial area. Inside, we make things that help other people pack their stuff. We’ve got a lot of heavy rolls and straps lying around. The floors are concrete and a bit cracked in places, but they hold up the weight. We aren't really into the whole "corporate image" thing. We wear work clothes that get dirty, and we eat our lunch together in the small break area. It gets pretty loud when all the machines are running at once, so we mostly communicate with hand signals or shouting. The sun hits the metal roof in the afternoon and makes it quite warm inside. We just open the big side doors to let the breeze in from the road. We’ve been at this for a long time. Some of the machines are older than the staff, but we keep them running smooth with plenty of oil. We don't have a receptionist. If the bell rings, someone just hops off a forklift and goes to see who it is. We’re just working hard to keep the orders moving out to the G.T. Road and beyond. It gets tiring but we just get on with it.
