Waseer Embroidery Works

We operate out of Pindi Street in the Civil Lines area, right by Chura Bazar. It’s a busy part of town, especially in the mornings when everyone is setting up their stalls. Our workshop is where we do all the embroidery work. We’ve got several machines lined up, and they make a lot of noise when they’re all running at once. It’s a rhythmic sound that you get used to after a while. We do a lot of different patterns, mostly for local shops and individuals who want something specific done. It’s not glamorous work, but it keeps us busy. The lighting inside isn't the best, so we use some extra lamps over the benches to see the fine threads. Sometimes we run out of a specific color and have to go hunting through the market to find a match. That’s just part of the day. We’ve been in Chura Bazar for quite a few years now. People know us as the place on Pindi Street where the machines are always humming. We don't have a big sign outside or anything like that. Most people find us through word of mouth. We don't spend money on advertising because we'd rather just spend it on better thread or fixing a needle bar. It’s a small operation, just a few of us making sure the patterns come out right. We take it one piece at a time. It's just a regular shop where we work hard with the threads and fabrics people bring us.
