Vijay Steel Industries

You’ll find Vijay Steel Industries out in Industrial Area-B. We are at 38-R, right near where the old Avon Cycle used to be. Most folks around here use that as a landmark. Being in an industrial area means it’s never really quiet. There’s the sound of metal and trucks all day long. We deal with steel, which isn't easy work. It’s heavy and it’s rough on the hands. We’ve been here at this location for a good bit of time. The shop floor is where most of the action happens. We aren't big on fancy offices. We have a small space to do the books, but mostly we are out where the steel is. It gets quite hot in the summers, especially with all the metal around, but we just get on with it. We don't have a website that looks like a movie or anything. We just take orders and cut the steel to the right size. It’s a straightforward business. We know our neighbors and they know us. Sometimes we share a tea when things slow down in the afternoon. We don't talk much about visions or goals. We just want to make sure the load is ready when the truck arrives. It’s a basic way to work, but it suits us just fine. There’s a lot of satisfaction in seeing a finished pile of material go out. We’ve been doing this for a long time.
