Our place is right on G.T Road in Sahnewal, which means we see a lot of trucks passing by every single day. Being out here near the main road is practical for the kind of steel work we do because it makes loading a lot easier, even if the dust from the road gets everywhere. The yard is usually full of inventory and there is almost always a crane or a loader moving something from one side to the other. It is not exactly a quiet environment, but that is the nature of the steel business. We spend most of our time out in the sun or under the shed, depending on the weather. Sometimes the heat gets pretty bad in the afternoons, so we take breaks when we can. We have been at this location for a good bit now, so the locals know where to find us. It’s a straightforward setup with a small office area where the paperwork happens, but most of the action is outside. We don’t have any flashy signs or anything. Just the name on the gate and a lot of heavy material sitting around. The guys here have been working together for a long time, so they know the routine by heart. It’s hard work, and by the end of the day, everyone is pretty tired. We just focus on getting the trucks out on time and making sure the counts are right before we close up for the night.
