Down in Industrial Area B-36, things are usually pretty loud and dusty. We have been working with metal and wires here for a long time. It’s not the kind of place you’d come for a quiet chat. There is always the sound of something being cut or moved around. My clothes usually have a bit of grease on them by noon. We deal with various types of metal, mostly just getting orders ready and loading them onto trucks that come through the narrow lanes of the industrial area. The floor is concrete and stays cold even when it’s hot outside. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend half the morning fixing them instead of doing the actual work. It’s a small team, mostly just guys who have been doing this since they were young. We don’t have a big office or anything, just a desk in the corner with a lot of old paperwork. People come to B-36 looking for specific wire gauges or metal pieces for their own projects. We just give them what they need and move on to the next pile. There is a tea stall just down the road where we all go around four o'clock. It’s hard work, but it keeps us busy. The industrial area has its own rhythm, and we’ve just become a part of it over the years. We just keep our heads down and get the metal moved.
